Works well - Packaging allows theft of bands
I like this product. It works.I also like that the packaging is pretty green - no plastic waste, and completely frustration-free.However, the packaging also allows for theft, and this is why I bought this from Amazon.I'd just bought one from a certain orange-themed big box store, only to get it home to find someone had stolen the rubber rings out of the packaging, so the product was completely unusable. Given COVID19, I wasn't about to go back to the store just to return this, for the same reason that I hadn't thoroughly inspected the box in the store, originally. I was trying to minimize contact, of course, or I would have originally discovered that every one of these on the shelf had been pilfered. So, rather than return the one to the store, I bought a second on Amazon. The one bought from Amazon was intact (nothing missing), but had identical packaging. Of course, while this means I now have "2 for the price of 2", I have half as many of the bands as I should have; but those are cheap enough to buy on Amazon, as well.I recommend that Amdro simply add a small piece of tamper-evident tape to their boxes, in the future.Despite this packaging annoyance, the product still deserves 5 stars.I should mention that I bought these two traps because I had seen them reviewed online, by a certain 'tuber who is well known for his weekly Mouse Trap review videos.Between the two traps, I got 1 rat the very first night - using peanut butter.

Save your money; use a regular trap
Had rats in our storage shed. They're smart enough to dodge regular traps, so I tried these. Waste of money. Every time, the trap was sprung, the rubber band a few inches away,, no sign of rat. They toyed with the trap.Ended up using a pattern of regular spring traps; that finally worked.

love the idea, ...
I love the idea of using castration rings to take care of the rats, but have one of these set up alongside of a bunch of tunnel traps, and while the tunnel traps similarly baited have been getting rats, have not caught a single one in this trap - not even triggered. It does seem nicely made, but the NYC rats don't seem to be falling for it. In general I have awful luck with any trap in my area unless it is a tunnel trap of some sort - our rats don't like dead ends.

Works well... no poison.., not likely to kill other critters
I've had this over a year now, and at first I was not happy with the results. But I set it up a couple weeks ago and have "caught" six rats on my back porch already - so I'm VERY HAPPY now!* No poison to harm other animals that may eat sickened/dead rats* Trap mechanism is far enough back in tube to not hurt most other wildlife (rabbits, racoons, opposums)* Dead rat tends to end up a couple feet from trap. So I never touch... use a shovel to toss it off into the corner of the yard... opposum or something else takes it from there.* Do not have to deal with removing trapped rats from a snap mechanism... or getting my fingers snapped :-(I plan on buying another; and I also use "castration bands" available on Amazon as refills.

Torture Device
Interesting device but just too hard to use. You need a mice infested place or starving mice for them to go in. After months of use , I caught a Cold, Covit-19 but Zero Mice. The bait Station is super small and the mice are too smart to trip the Strangulation Noose Trip wire. I had better luck with regular snap traps . I could see it working under certain conditions but for my smart mice they knew it was something to avoid. Plus the thought of Strangulating a poor mouse seems barbaric. No wonder it is banned or proposed to be banned n certain countries.

Ultimately did not get the rat easier to set
Fits nicely along walls. Easier to set than snap traps and not as messy as glue traps. Our rat was extremely clever, so it ultimately didn’t do the trick, but seems like it could, with a dumber rat.

It Works & Quick!!!
Hands down best solution for rat problem. Had a feeder rat get loose in garage tried poisoning for a week with antifreeze, and baking soda peanut butter balls no luck. Order this Sunday for delivery Tuesday. Set up tonight Wednesday at 6pm rat was dead by 7:30pm. We baited the trap with chocolate since we already had tried peanut butter.

Didn't work
This contraption didn't work at all for me. Bought both the one for mice and rat - one each and other types of traps. The old fashioned wood plank with a bar for the kill got some many while this type got NONE. With the cost difference of $2.50 for the other to close to $20 for one of these... don't waste your money!
