Great product
Iâm so happy with this tool. It matches my 1980âs Chicago cutlery set. Years ago I didnât know how to use one and threw the one that was part of the set away. So happy to have it back now that I know what to do with it.

Works better than my old one but needs more sheer
I was hoping this had a bit more sheer. My previous one is worn out and this is only a bit better! Somewhat disappointed in its performance but is still better than other I've tried. With years of experience in maintaining good cutlery, this tool hasn't met the mark.

Nicer than the original Chicago Cutlery steel
Nicer than original steel and it fits in the original Chicago Cutlery knife block. I tried lower cost steel which was very nice and the same quality if the CC steel, but it did not fit in the knife block which is now a tool for the garage or boat.

Chicago Cutlery rocks
Had an old one same brand. New one is as good as that one which was well made.

Poor quality, does not sharpen
Very disappointed. đŁ I was replacing current one that was worn out. This ânewâ one has very little roughness to sharpen blades, we need to find another option for our Chicago cutlery which we love.Would like to return but I think we had it too long, 10 months. Not a good use of your money.

Not what it used to be
I bought the 10â sharpening steel thinking it would be a perfect replacement for my 30 year old steel that was beginning to be a bit worn. I was wrong. The product I received was a cheap piece of steel that was not even centered in the handle. The wood felt light. The steel rod was not even tapered. Chicago Cutlery used to be a brand that you trusted for a quality product. That is no longer the case. Like most other once great companies, they are âglobally sourcingâ their products. That means itâs like a box of chocolates. You never know what youâll get. In most cases it will be a cheaply made product that is undeserving of the Chicago Cutlery name. Now it appears they no longer care about reputation. Just move product and hopefully make profit by selling it repeatedly to the same people. No thanks. I wonât play that game. Iâll buy quality products wherever I find them and tell everyone else about a good value. This product is not that. Please look elsewhere.
