Not a good purchase for me.
The size of each pieces vary some are bigger then others. The pieces are super hard to bite into and do not taste earthy at all. I even soaked them for a whole day in water and the pieces were still hard. I personally did not like it.

Pica dream
My pica dream come true. The taste is exactly what I like. Taste and smells like wet dirt in a basement. Yes it’s a hard crunch. Just soak it in some water for a bit and it’s great. It is a little pricey, however shipping is fast. I always order from yummy clays (I can’t recommend them enough), but the site is not taking orders at the moment and shipping is not next day like this was. So I’ll pay a little extra to get my pica fix fast.

Not good at all.
The taste was not earthy at all and it was so hard I want able to bite much less eat it. Would not recommend for pica cravings.

Good but inconsistent
This comes as a mix of two different kinds of broken pottery. One type is extremely hard and inedible. The other is an extremely satisfying crunchy, tasty, non-gummy snack. It benefits from soaking in water. It's firm enough for that satisfying crunchy and grinds up well. It has a rainy day dirt road kind of taste. I wish the company would differentiate between the two textures and offer them separately. They are not packaged with any kind of discernable label about the percentage of each, it tends to be different for each package. Please sell these as 100% medium and hard for the customers who want a different choice and this becomes a 5-star rating.

Works great for pregnancy PICA
Some of the reviews make me giggle. Because what did you expect it is literal dirt. And I don’t know how you have a dirt preference lol. It tastes like dirt there’s no other way to put it. It’s common sense you need to soak clay to soften it or grind it up into a powder. You need to prep it. It satisfied my dirt craving since I’m suffering from PICA during my pregnancy. I didn’t need a large amount to satisfy the craving for a while. It’s perfect for women struggling with pica during pregnancy and want to kill the craving with a little bite here and there.

NO NO NO!!! READ ME FIRST!!
After purchasing what looked to be like delicious edible clay chips I soon discovered that what I was in fact, chewing on was once a terra-cotta pot. I feel like my first sign should have been the shear force I had to used to actually try and consume it or maybe just maybe the fact that rather that chip like shapes I actually seen the bottom part of a bowl? After unfortunately, but successfully grinding a shard down to a powder light consistency, I then checked my visor mirror to make sure I still had all my teeth. (No joke) to make matters worse, this did not at all satisfy my pica craving. It tasted like one would expect chewing on glass to taste. Now I’m not sure why I got so upset that I was bamboozled by somebody exploiting my irrational addiction. But I doubled down to help save all the pica suffers on Amazon from experiencing the same thing.Imagine the embarrassment of calling an Amazon representative and trying to complain that the edible dirt isn’t edible enough.Just a note those of you who understand if you give in to your intrusive pica addiction, don’t let it be this product that you order ! Save your oral health, pride, and money!

Excellent Flavor
The flavor is fantastic, very earthy with good geosmin/petrichor flavors. The shards are too hard to chew but I use a pestle and mortar to grind it into dust. It grinds well into dust and is delicious dry, mixed with water, or sprinkled on ice.The clay is balanced with the sand and it doesn’t go gummy due to it not being as smooth as other clays or chalks. When mixed with water it has farm more of a muddy texture than other clays.I hope this review helps others determine if this roasted clay will meet their pica needs!
