The volume automatically resets to 10
It is a forth Bluetooth speaker I bought and it is the best and the cheapest of the lot. It is also the ugliest but the sound quality and the rich functionality more than make up for the design from the 80s (think Volvo 740 estate if you are old enough to remember). One thing though, in case whoever designed it is reading this. Which device in your house automatically resets its volume to 50% every time you turn it off/on? Ever owned a TV? I mean, you are listening to a song stored on the micro SD card (they call it a TF card for some reason), the volume is on "03". Then you switch the power OFF. Turn the power back ON half an hour later - the song resumes where it was playing (clever!) but the volume is now at "10"! I don't want "10", I set it to "03"! I don't get it.UPDATE. The seller confirmed that the volume resetting itself is not a fault but a design feature: "every time turn on, the volume is V10,it is a mid-volume , for most of bluetooth speaker in the market , almost all of this set . if last time the volume is V16, now turn on this speaker, you may be scared . hope you can understand ."I can understand, but the thing is that V10 scares the hell out of me (and my neighbours' dog) already. That's why I set the volume to V03.OK, I see now what the problem is. The output volume is not the same for different inputs. The AUX input is the quietest. If I play the same song via BT, it is a bit louder. No problem here, as V10 volume does not sound offensive on these two inputs and you can always adjust the volume on the device you are playing the music anyway. I normally set the volume on my phone to the top of the range that is still safe for your ears and then V10 on the speakers sounds loud and clear. I might turn it down or up a bit depending on the time of the day. All good. Here is the problem: the FM radio is much louder than BT and the TF card input is by far the loudest. The only way to control volume for these two is via the speaker, except it resets to V10 all the time. So how are you supposed to turn the radio on without giving yourself a heart attack?Solution: Plug in the AUX cable. It does not have to be connected to anything. Turn the speaker on. The speaker will quietly wait for some input from the AUX input. Set the desired volume (V04-V05 is plenty). Press FM button. For the TF card the solution is a bit more fiddly as there is no "TF card" button. You'll need to unplug the card and plug it back in (after the volume has been reduced from V10 to a safe level, e.g. V03) so the speaker auto-detects the card and starts playing.

Not enough volume
The design and feel of the speaker is decent and well done for manufacturing it for this price (although I have noticed exactly the same design at this price range from other sellers with different brand names...). It's something you might like to buy for a child's bedroom... and that's because it is simply not loud enough, so you won't need to worry about your offspring going deaf or your going insane. The sound is, again, decent and even has a bit of bass (unlike the slightly more powerful [+3W] XLeader SoundAir, which I am testing at the moment). Nevertheless, a couple of days ago, I watched the film Oblivion (Blu-ray format), playing from my computer with this speaker connected using an AUX cable; there are several scenes in the film when the characters talk quietly; despite the volume being on maximum everywhere (player, computer, speaker), I still could not hear what they were saying (and, for the record, because of a health condition, I had my hearing tested in hospital recently and I can hear perfectly well). As I got the speaker mainly to substitute my laptop's poor speakers, so that we could enjoy watching films, it just had to go back (although we are a little spoilt, I suppose, due to having used an ION Block Rocker for a few months, but that had a major fault in not having any bass controls). Even at full volume, I did not notice any distortion (unlike with its aforementioned "brother"). Overall good for the price.***PS. Not a single radio station worked for me well enough to listen to (NB. I did not use an AUX cable to help it with the FM signal reception, though, so I cannot say whether that would improve the signal sufficiently for any stations to play well enough).

More features for less dosh... Good product
I received this set last week for my workshop. As usual the instructions are basic and some playing is required to workout all the features. Bluetooth: this is very clear and the first mode to be entered when firsted switched on and automatically connects back to Galaxy Tab S 10. Whether streaming TV or Radio the sound quality is great. Radio: it was not long before I decided there was not much point streaming the local Internet radio when I could listen to it using FM radio, pressing the FM button for 3 seconds automatically found all the main stations and now I can change to each of them with one button press to cycle through. The sound is clear, and a nice sound. Although with no aerial some best placement of the speakers is required (see new note at the bottom). Time: I have not yet found a way of displaying the actual time on the display, I can set it and set the alarm which would wake anyone up and using the SD CARD can be set to play music.I've been using it now on the same charge for well over 12 hours on a low listening volume, about 3 hours of that using Bluetooth and the rest FM radio which I assume takes a bit less power. The system is still showing 2 out of 3 power bars.Volume is good, although the instructions say 2 x 3w not 2 x 5w as the advert says. I think it's more like 3w, that's not to say it's quiet, it's loud enough for most users and there is very little distortion on max settings so you get the full wattage. The sound remain s good, bass is limited. Certainly not like my bose Bluetooth set in the living room but they were £180. That's said, in some respects the less bass makes a better sound for the radio. My only one negative comments are that it starts on quite a high volume, I'm sure it will be capable of remembering a lower setting but I can not work it out.Heres a tip that's not in the instructions: the lack of aerial for the fm radio. The supplied aux 3.5mm jack lead works as the aerial, but when this is plugged in it automatically moves to aux mode, press the FM key and now the radio has an aerial! Cool .Kev
