Q: Does the trainer have adjustable resistance

There has a resistance, but is is not adjustable.

Q: Will this fit a 148mm boosted rear axle spacing? This is larger than your normal mountain bike. 210mm width roughly axle end to axle end.

i just looked at my bike set-up and i think it's going to be a little small. My bike is set up on it right now but I think you have about 8 inches of leeway, or 203 mm. There are a couple threads on the screws unaccounted for, but that's going to be a really tight fit. WHAT are you riding??? :)

Yep. I'm using mountain bike type wheels/tires.

It's not difficult at all. The bike is held in place by threaded bolts that screw in from either side at the bike's axle. The fitting where it attaches to the axle, (it fits snugly over the nut) is good and sturdy, and the other ends have large plastic grips. The threads are large enough as to not make it hard to turn but small enough to allow for a good, tight fit.
