Union Hand Roasted Coffee Brazil Ground Coffee, 200g

Great coffee. Soft sweetish taste, does have some notes of milk chocolate. Not bitter or sour (unless if left to brew for long. Then has some bitterness but some people like it). Has good thick foam even though its just from the French coffee press. Very impressed. Will try other Union coffee for cafeterias.

Bought these in an emergency - misjudged my re-up. Bought in August, but the beans were roasted in May which I think let the flavour down slightly.

The flavour of the coffee itself is not terrible, though you can tell the beans are quite old/stale as there is little CO2 release when using a pour over.Further, the grind of these beans is too fine - closer to an espresso grind than a cafetiere grind as written in the description. This means when brewing the coffee by cafetiere or pour over, the flavours are badly over extracted resulting in a more burnt taste than could be obtained from these beans.Overall this product has great potential, but poor storage and execution mean the price tag is not justified - also making it bad value for money.

Gorgeous coffee but the bag is always half empty so never lasts long

Very disappointed. I'm a big coffee drinker a full jug (4 mugs each morning). I generally buy spiller and tate or Illy intentenso, but on a whim decided to try this. Oh dear its like a flavoured instant coffee. Yes there are some underlying nut flavours but overall its weak and lacking body. Never again .

Tastes like it's gone bad, as other reviewers have mentioned. Year is suspiciously scrubbed off back. Perhaps a faulty printer? Who knows.... Item not eligible for return so avoid. I can only guess the positive reviewers were lucky or have no taste. Union is a great coffee brand so buy direct.

Beans roasted in July 2021, not fresh roasted (less than 1 month) as I normally buy direct from Union. May be cheaper but no substitute for freshness. Beware
