Loud enough for me.
This thing is loud. Not ear piercing, but you will hear it in another room just fine. I don't know a decibel level, but I'd buy it again.

inexpensive, but not fail safe
This alarm is really inexpensive and simple to use. If you have a less rebellious elderly person than I am taking care of it may work fine.After 2 nights, my relative figured out how to take the clip off the back of his shirt and by the end of the first week he started trying to hide the alarm, because he hated the sound so much. (I wasn't fond of the sound either.)For me, the Posey wireless alarm system with remote speaker is a much better solution than this, it is more expensive than this, but not through the roof and the peace of mind and peace in the household has been worth it.If this is all you can afford, get it. Having an alarm has kept my relative from falling more than once and I wouldn't live without them.
