Have a fan ready when reading this book ;)Trying to Score is the third book in Kendall’s Hot Jocks Series. Each of these books can be read as a standalone. Each book focuses on a different hockey star from the Seattle hockey team and the woman who tames them. This story was the perfect mix of sports romance and romantic comedy. The banter between Teddy and Sara and even the other players had me laughing throughout the story. I thought the flow and pace was perfect and I loved that it is told in Dual POV.We follow Teddy and Sara in this book. They have been friends for years and even had a casual thing back in college. 5 STARS! Sweet, sexy and so swoon-worthy!
I love hockey romances, and when Kendall Ryan announced the Hot Jocks series, I was so excited. I loved the first book, Playing for Keeps, a hybrid romance blending the friends-to-lovers and best friend’s little sister tropes. All the Way, the second standalone in this series, absolutely stole my heart. While not the lighthearted sports romance readers may have been expecting, it was a beautiful, moving love story, and Kendall broke my heart with that emotional story before she painstakingly pieced it back together. I’ve been a big fan of Kendall Ryan’s writing for years. Sassy, sexy, easy-reading contemporaries and romantic comedies are among my favorite things to read, and Kendall’s always find their way to the top of my list.Kendall has been killing it with the Hot Jocks series—each book has been better than the last. Trying to Score is a blend of several tropes, and Ryan swirled the frenemies-to-lovers, fake relationship and second-chance romance tropes together masterfully. Pairing pro hockey player, Teddy King, and attorney, Sara Dawson, she matches two opposites in a surprisingly sweet, sexy romance. Teddy has had the whole playboy thing going on for most of the series, and Sara has been focused on her career and clawing her way to partner. What the unlikely duo hasn’t told anyone before is that they weren’t just study buddies in college, they had a casual, friends with benefits relationship that resulted in a sex tape. While they’ve kept their brief relationship a secret from their friends, they’re forced to work together to deal with the consequences of their actions, and the closeness they once shared comings roaring back to life.I couldn’t get enough of their witty back-and-forth banter and how easily their relationship shifted. Teddy had been kind of the goof-ball of their group, but there was so much more to him and it really took me by surprise. Their chemistry has never been an issue, but it really explodes here in the best possible way. Teddy has always wanted more with Sara, and now that he has this chance, he’s not squandering it. I loved how comfortable and effortless their relationship was, but Teddy was so sweet and swoon-worthy, I couldn’t help but root for them the whole way.Trying to Score was a fantastic addition to Kendall Ryan’s hockey-themed sports romance series. Full of sizzling chemistry, Teddy and Sara’s sweet friends-to-lovers romance was addictive, and I devoured it in a day. Trying to Score by Kendall Ryan gets 5 smooches from me!

“Every Time I Looked at You, I Saw Forever”
far as their mutual friends can tell, there's nothing between hockey player Teddy King and attorney Sara Dawson except for a lot of bickering, bantering and sniping. What no one else knows is that Teddy and Sara had a casual thing back in college. They were young, carefree, and bursting with hormones, and somewhere along the way they thought it would be fun to leave the camera rolling during one of their hook ups. But Teddy’s cloud account has been hacked and someone is threatening to release the tape online, so Teddy turns to Sara for help.FYI, Teddy, it’s never a good idea to save something like that to cloud storage. Has the guy never met a USB drive or SD card?! Not only is Teddy’s hockey career now in jeopardy, but Sara is up for partner at her law firm, which definitely won't happen if that tape gets released. Although Sara handles the news from Teddy like a champ, she's understandably upset, especially since Teddy swore to her all of the copies had been deleted. In Teddy’s defense, I can understand him keeping a copy just for himself, because these two together are blazing hot! This one is low on angst but has plenty of humor, heat, heart and drama to keep you on the edge of your seat. I flew through the book, reading it in one sitting, eagerly devouring every page that took me closer and closer to Teddy and Sara's happily ever after. All of these characters are complex, rich, vivid and endearing, and it was great to catch up with the guys and their gals from the other books in the series. There are a lot of hockey books in sports romance, but this one definitely stands out. If you’re looking for a down-to-earth, loveable hero, a smart, driven, compassionate heroine, and a storyline that hooks you in and doesn’t let go, you’ll love Teddy and Sara's story!

Fast-paced and fun
Trying to Score is the third book in Kendall Ryan's Hot Jocks series, but honestly, they can be read in any order or as complete stand-1alones, as each story features a separate couple connected to the same Ice Hockey team. And this one is fast-paced, light on drama, fun and full of sexy moments, and I was easily hooked throughout.Would recommend.

Fun sporty romance
Another fun, sexy story in this series. I do enjoy a good sporty romance. Both characters are fun, we’ve met these in previous stories so it’s nice that they’ve got together even though there is a story behind it and they have a secret past anyway.
