Really a messy product
I wanted a product with low adhesion properties. The product is basically a congealed gel with a sticky coating on one side (bare) and on the other side sticky coating, but covered with a thin plastic material. For my application, I wanted 1/4" x 1" strips to attach to the end of small plywood pieces. I used super sharp scissors. The sticky congealed gel stuck to the side of one blade. As I tried to peel it off, the sticky stuff stuck to my finger. One finger was on the sticky gel and the other finger on the thin plastic material (which slides off of the gel). The congealed gel stretched out like bubble gum, but would try to resume its original shape. The adhesion quality is what I was looking for. However, it was a pain in the butt to apply in my application. The second application, keeping an indoor rug in place will probably work. However, I seriously doubt reusing the congealed gel. Further, I can't see this product holding anything other than a pencil -- forget tools.

Detaches from the wall.
I found my surge protector on the floor for the third time. I stuck it back up again after the first and second time. I pushed it on well the first time. I'm 6'2" tall, so I pushed hard. One photo shows the tacky stuff on the wall The other shows my surge protector on the floor. It had only been up a few days.Came off the third time. I removed it all. Actually the new stuff that I put on peeled off the first stuff that I put on. IT WON'T EVEN STICK TO ITSELF!

barely holds up
Edit: Clean or not, doesn't hold strong. It can handle a light plastic spice jar, wouldn't trust it with glass or knives.Great for other tasks I guess.Original:Tape stuck to the wall just fine, stretching and pulling a little bit as it went but it looks very clear! Scissors fell off after 30 seconds. Going to try again with other materials. Maybe I was wrong to try to stick an object I use regularly on the tape since my hands will get it dirty each time. Cleaned and dry utensils may work better. This was cheap for a longer roll than some options. The reviews looked good but the product failed the first test for me.

Really works!
I needed something that would hold up the valance on my wooden blinds. I tried double-side tape, velcro, etc. Nothing held permanently. This double sided adhesive tape really works. I've also used it in our RV so I don't have nail holes. Definitely would buy again!

Does it’s job, keeps rug in place.
I needed something to keep the rug in my living room in place. This did the job, it kept the rug from sliding. Just keep in mind that robot vacuums get suck on the edges where you put the tape because it lifts the rug a little. I’ve only used it for rugs, I’m sure it has many more uses.

Weight limits
In general, it's pretty sticky stuff. But it has its weight limitations. I tried to hang a 3 hook towel rack on the outside of a metal shower stall, but it fell off. I replaced it with Flex Seal glue.

Have to use a push pin or nail, does not hold
I would not recommend this if you are using solely; it does not work. Did find after you pin or nail an item onto the wall, it does help keep in place. Items I was trying to stick to the were small and light.
