good but awkward to hang
these did the trick in that they are definitely blackout but I found them awkwaard to hang. It was my first time with eyelet curtains anyway (a lovely pair from Next) and it was a real performance getting the blackouts up. I tried hanging both sets at the same time (hopeless as the eyelet hooks from the blackouts fell out) so put up the proper curtains first and then scrabbled behind them to hang the blackouts. The trick is to get the hooks in exactly the right position so they mimic the folds without showing at the front. Anyway, did it eventually and they are fine and do what it says on the tin. I hadn't realised that eyelet curtains let in a certain amount of light at the top and at each end anyway as they stand away from the wall slightly but the end result is good enough to sleep through a light morning.

The curtain CANNOT BE WASHED
Three things:1. This is not a ready to hang curtain with rings attached that you just put straight up, you have to sit down and measure it out which takes time and space. I sound lazy but really I'm just a harassed busy parent and I thought this would help me solve a problem.2. It CANNOT BE WASHED. I just don't understand this product. It's a curtain, it hangs in the window and gets all the pollen and dust from the air coming into your home, and all the cooking smells and dust that's inside too, and yet it is designed so that it cannot be cleaned. It makes no sense to me. I clean my curtain liners when I swap my curtains as its really quick and you can even hang them up damp and let them air dry.3. I asked for refund. They argued the toss about it. I asked again. They agreed. I returned the goods. I got no refund for TWO MONTHS.A happy ending: I returned this, decided to be patient and waited until I had time to buy liners from the well known high street furnishings store with the green sign. I used standard clear shower curtain rings, and it does exactly the same job ...but now I can WASH IT!

Fantastic winter warmth
Just hung my curtain liners in my living room and can already tell the difference in terms of warmth in the room/less draft from the windows. These liners are cream on one side and slightly grey on the other side. They are ready to hang you just need to "gather" them up to match your curtains. There's even a reminder sticker on each curtain to remind you to tie a knot in one end of the strings before you start gathering them up.They came with twenty curtain hooks which was plenty to hang this width of liner, and the packaging has simple instructions in case you don't know what you're doing. The window is now really dark, and I am sure I'm going to save on my heating bill in this room!

these don't stink like Dunelm ones do!
having previously bought, and subsequently returned 2 different pairs of blackout curtains to Dunelm because they smelled of manky wet dog, we took a punt on these - hoping they also didn't smell (must be something in the backing material Dunelm use - they REEKED). Result! They arrived really quickly, were a doddle to fit thanks to the hooks provided and do the job perfectly. Hurrah - no more waking up at 4.30am! Do yourself a favour - don't buy the stinky ones form Dunelm, buy these and save yourself the hassle of having to take back the Dunelm ones (after digging packaging out of the bin, trying to re-fold into said packaging and making your bedroom smell nice again).

Good at blocking out light, but smell bad
Good at blocking out light in babies room. Only problem is they really smell even after being aired in the garden for 3 days.

Dark mornings
Easy to hang. Block out early morning sunlight effectively ensuring we don't wake up at silly o'clock! Liners are exactly the same size as the curtains which meant I had to lower the curtain hooks to prevent the liners from hanging too low. Not a big problem but maybe ordering liners shorter than the curtains would have helped. Do smell a bit plasticky when they get warm.

Does it's job!
Being new to the UK and its 4am summer sunrises my partner and I decided to invest in some blackout curtains to help us get our weekend sleep ins! And they've done just that. Easy to attach to your current curtains and really do block out the light (except for the slither above the curtain rail!). Definitely recommend.

Very pleased with the material.
Very pleased with the quality of the material. My only disappointment is that the plastic hooks included didn’t hold lining in place. So I removed all hooks and sewed linings onto the curtains, which did the trick.
